Synopsis: Katsuragi Tetsuo, the protagonist, is a highschool student who lives with his older sister Yuri.
Yuri, having originally lived in a foreign country, is a mainstay of the family and make a living by the work of translation at home.
They have a bedridden sister with no consciousness too. The doctor don't know what's the disease what makes her to stay lying in bed as a beautiful doll.
Tetsuo have two good friends too, Izumi, his neighbor and childhood friend, and the good-hearted nerd, Seiji. The three had always live in harmony.
The story begins in the town where they live, where bizarre events start to occur. Mutilation murders, cases where someone is killed with a huge blade, are happening.
Tetsuo thinks himself to be irrelevant to these cases. However, anxiety rising slightly, Yuri starts to be worried about the hero.

Well, no mood for structured review, so let's keep it in the flow of thoughts style. First of all, game kind of disappointed me for how cliche it is. Let's just numerate some of them. School student protagonist. Life in adopted family. Mysterious murders happening to the people he contacted last. Descendants of secret sword clans. Wonder waffle he suddenly discovers, and with such power that it can easily destroy the world. Time loop. Just really - what wicked number of stamps. But in game's defense I should add that no game before actually had such distinct and full number of a classic chunige features. So I guess I'll use Eigou Kaiki as a paragon of chunige till the time I find something even more sickly.
We're not done with the negative part yet. There are five heroine routes in the game which are set in predetermined order. And heroines are actually quite shallow here. Childhood friend Izumi at least has much time to shine, so she's probably the most memorable one. Older sister Yuuri is cool, because she knows the most about the clan secrets, but she still does not live up even to Chizuru from Kizuato. Sleeping in coma Hinano route is the worst as poor girl only has time to sleep in coma or have sex, pretty much nothing else. Fourth route is partly intriguing, because Elfriede is actually our antagonist. Fifth heroine Yun is the True heroine that makes separate routes a united story, but she has a small yet important role to play, actually. Journalist Takami was probably the most intriguing heroine, but she did not get her own route. As a raw outcome, only Izumi is a likeable heroine, especially in her interaction with Tadashi classmate. Basically, there is no fighting heroine apart of antagonistic Elfriede. That was a pity for me. At least there was enough gore, partly due to the reason there are no other heroines able to defend themselves.
All right, lets finish with negative sides already. I still consider this game a small and shaky, but masterpiece. It has enough action scenes and small revelations to keep interest. Different heroines' view is refreshing. The true route sums things up neatly. Game could be even better with some surprise element or more developed heroines. Eigou Kaiki can be roughly translated as eternal regression. I'm glad this concept is explained, but it turns just moving backwards in time, nothing big. I enjoyed this game for the whole first route, but not further due to repeatability. Not sure I'll be as generous to generic chunige in future, though.

Hey, kivandopulus, is it really worth reading this VN? How are the H-scenes in general? Did any of the heroines get raped or gangraped? I read that Yuri has sex with a group (looked up the CGs for that one)? What is the context behind that if you saw it? Did Yuri do it unwillingly? Hope to hear from you soon.

Not sure this game is worth reading. Heroines only get gang-raped in this game as a part of protagonist's future prediction ability. He sees what can happen if he does not interfere. Then he steps up and prevents all the rapes. The participants are just members of some small gang who later on get wiped. Not only Yuri, but also Izumi and Takami can fall their victims.

So, this game is not worth reading because there are a lot of flaws bringing it down, correct? The bland and shallow heroines, the numerous cliches, the boring endings, etc.? Wait, so the gangrapes don't actually happen at all, they only happen as possible what-ifs (if Tetsuo doesn't interfere) as part of Tetsuo's future prediction ability? The CGs of Yuri, Izumi, and Takami being gangraped are just future what-ifs that Tetsuo sees, where he then saves them and prevents the rapes? Yuri, Izumi, and Takami never get gangraped for real in any of the routes since Tetsuo predicted them and thus saved them, correct? Also, that small gang, did they die slow, painful deaths? I also saw two CGs of Yuri having sex with Tetsuo and Elfriede. When does that occur? As for the five heroines' endings, they don't seem interesting at all. It makes sense since the heroines themselves are bland and shallow, not feeling real or interesting.

In Izumi's Good Ending, Yuri is still alive, correct? I mean, we hear Yuri's voice calling for Tetsuo's help from downstairs (she even called him with the -kun attached to his name). The last time we saw her, she was killed by Elfriede. Of course, she was brought back to life due to the time loops?

I hope to hear from you soon!

Only Takami is gang-raped by the small gang in majority of routes, and it's needed to happen in order to understand the seriousness of situation. But Takami is not a heroine, she does not have her own route. Tetsuo never knows about the trials to come. Even in True route Yun admits that she can't tell anything to Tetsuo, because it would shift the balance of Universe.

As for the small gang, we never get to see their faces or anything. The last time we hear them talking is planning to rape exotic foreighter looking Elfriede. Then they are found cut to small pieces with a crystal sword.

Yuri having sex with Tetsuo and Elfriede is the bad end of Elfriede - in this end Tetsuo fails to kill Bernard and gets into a trap. The route ends instantly after this sex scene, so it's a very vague ending.

As far as I remember, Izumi and Yuuri actually survive in all endings. But every time Yuuri gets injured, and this scene is shown with different CG in every route. Yuuri can't fight anymore, so Tetsuo remains the only combatant who needs to face Bernard and Elfriede alone. It's a pity that every route comes to the same resolution. Only Elfriede route is different, because she betrays Bernhard. Yun route is also different, because her influence negates the whole violence circle.

So, this sex scene of Yuri with Tetsuo and Elfriede is the bad ending of Elfriede's route? What sort of trap did Tetsuo got into?

"As far as I remember, Izumi and Yuuri actually survive in all endings. But every time Yuuri gets injured, and this scene is shown with different CG in every route. Doesn't Hinano also survive in all endings as well? Wait, so every route comes to the same resolution? Tetsuo beating Bernard and Elfriede alone (since Yuri can't fight anymore due to her injuries in every route) or something along those lines, where he then gets together with the chosen heroine of that route? Only Elfriede and Yun's routes are different, the former betraying Bernard and the latter negating the whole violence cycle. Other than that, it's nothing special or good. I hope to hear from you soon.

The trap is that Tetsuo returns home and sees his sister violated in her room by Elfriede. He gets seduced as well, and just after that the route ends. So, little explanation is given.

Yes, Hinano also survives in every route, but only because she just sleeps in coma and never wakes up.

Ricky Nguyen said...

I see. Wow, that was a disappointment of an ending, little explanation is given here. I believe that this is a disappointing VN. I want to ask, how is Yun's route (the True Route) different from the others?
How does it end? Hope to hear from you soon.

Yun comes as transfer student and creates only positive memories for Tetsuo. When time comes for Elfriede to strike, she enters with tears and says that she's unable to go on with violence like before. Yun says that she imbued Tetsuo with positive energy to break the violence time loop. All the previous routes turn out to be time loop cycles, and both Elfriede and Tetsuo realize that now. The time goes on without entering past regression, and that saves the universe. Very short route, actually.

Ricky Nguyen said...

Wait, so this violent time loop is now broken thanks to Yun? What is this past regression though? The time loop? So, do we know what happened to Elfriede after the time loop is broken? Last we saw her, she passed out on a bench close to Yun and Tetsuo, before Yun erased Tetsuo's memories of what happened (probably before time loops back one final time maybe) The universe is saved due to time going forward without looping back, so what happens now? We know how Tetsuo, Yuri, Hinano, Izumi, and Tetsuo and Izumi's friend (we even see Yun now as a transfer student where she meets Tetsuo again at the nnd of the true route) are doing well, but what happened to Takami and Elfriede? Then again, like you said, it's a very short route. This VN is not worth recommending to anyone, I believe, and I think you agree as well. I hope to hear from you soon.

kivandopulus said...

Past regression is another phrase for time travel to the past, but there is also "regression" meaning that describes deteriorating conditions of the Universe with each time travel.

We don't really know anything about Elfriede after seeing her peaceful nap. We're not explained anything about other characters. What we know is that Tamaki does not show up in Yun True route at all. The ending is vague, aprupt and thus absolutely not satisfying.

Ricky Nguyen said...

I see, that's disappointing.

Ricky Nguyen said...

At least Yuuri is not raped for real in the game by that small gang or any other scum, correct? That never happens whatsoever?

kivandopulus said...

Don't remember for sure already. Pretty sure that it was a normal straight scene, but for some unknown reason it looked like there was more than one male.

Ricky Nguyen said...

I see. It kind of looked like a rape scene, if you look closely enough.
